[nlnquejq] Tiling a circle

Take a section of a tiling, for example a square divided into squares, and morph it into a circle.  The tiles will no longer be congruent.  Which tilings work well?  It depends on the shape of the initial section: one could choose a section that approximates a circle, then morphing (probably) won't cause too much distortion.

Morphing could be done with nodes connected by springs.  Or maybe something that preserves area or incircle of each tile.

Motivation was to create a circular board game (for aesthetic reasons) out of a polygonal one like chess.
