[estmsfeu] Coloring a checkerboard cube

How many colors are required to color the surface of a cube with each face subdivided into squares (like a checkerboard) so that no adjacent squares are the same color? The answer is 3 or 4.

We can also ask about other polyhedra: triangle and hexagon faces can be subdivided into triangles.
