The defining feature of the technological singularity is it is the point in time at which technological progress is so rapid that accurate predictions beyond that point are impossible.
We are at the point already. Imagine how difficult it would be for anyone at any point in the past human history to predict what technology would be like today, or tomorrow, and the effect such technology would be having on society and people's lives. We are definitely using technology to develop more technology, the feedback effect that thwarts predictions.
What should the education system be like to prepare students for the future? The fact that this question is difficult suggests the singularity is already here. Compare the situation to the recent past, in which the goal of the education system was to produce workers for a manufacturing economy.
