[wfxahadw] Circular harmonics

Animate a circle vibrating, alternating between a tall and wide ellipse. The classic way to do this is to solve the wave differential equation with a periodic boundary condition.  Are the lowest mode solutions actually ellipses?

Other ways could preserve the area or perimeter.

Ellipsoid.  I think the famous spherical harmonics of electron orbitals become less bizarre looking when one adds a constant, i.e., waves on a sphere of positive radius.
